The Secret Sauce
There has never been a better time to create your dream business. I know you have heard it all over the place. "It takes money to make money." The truth is that is a complete lie you don't need money to make money online. Right now is the perfect time to start that business you have been dreaming about. Today is "someday" and I am going to let you in on the secret to success.
Building my business wasn't an easy decision at all. It was one of the hardest things I have ever decided to do in my life. Not because I had to take this huge plunge and spend all this money. It was the scariest decision because I was scared of people really seeing me. Not for who I am but for who I knew I was meant to be. For the judgment that I knew would come once I let the world in. The judgment for being a mom and wanting to work after years of being a stay-at-home mother. The judgment of my husband for feeling like I would be putting my time and energy into something that wasn't him and our kids.
Being a mom, wife, and business owner wasn't what I thought that it would be. My first year in business wasn't what I thought it would be. It wasn't what my teachers set me up for in the program I was in. I thought it would be easy to just "open my doors" and success would flow in. Because that is what my teachers told me to expect within the first year. However, that wasn't the case at all for me. The first year I "started" my business but never really started it. I never made a dollar and never made my business official at all. The next year I read all the books, blogs and listened to all of the podcasts I could find on building an online business. Thinking that there was some kind of secret sauce I was missing. That I could figure out what I was missing if I just had more knowledge in my life.
That year I decided I would legally start my business and stop putting it off. After all who would take my business seriously if I didn't do the paperwork. So I got my DBA, Yes I know not the scariest thing but for me it was. Being a Military wife meant we move every few years and I didn't want to start it knowing we would probably be moving within a year. That year gave me more experience than I ever thought was possible. The pandemic created a lot of problems and even though I did make some money. I ended up deciding to give away my coaching to those who came to me. Giving away $500k in coaching services that year was a huge win for me. It meant I had people who knew I was skilled. It meant I had proven my skill time and time again over that year. I knew I was ready to take on the massive decision to jump in headfirst to my business.
However, I still had no idea what the heck the secret sauce was to selling online. I had just helped those who came into my world. I didn't really market my products or sell to them in my opinion. Then came the big move where we jumped and moved to a whole new state. Where I decided the hell with it even if I couldn't figure out what the secret sauce was. I would officially start my LLC and be a real business no matter what was to come. As I talk to my group of friends who all got what I was going through as they all had very successful businesses. I finally learned what the secret sauce was that I had been searching for.
The secret sauce is that there is no secret sauce. YOU have to show up every single day. You have to work hard, have a balance in your life between work and home. You have to keep moving forward and celebrate your little wins. It doesn't matter how small or how pointless you think that win might be. Celebrate it Asia it is a huge win and keep on celebrating. Every step matters because it is leading you to where you want to be in life.
So today I challenge you to take the leap. Today is "someday" and it is time to start your business. The groundwork takes time so don't feel pressured to do all the work at once.
